Mr. Skowronski urged the council to “look at the worse case scenario: What could it be used for? Parking is a major issue.”
Treasurer Brad Fisher agreed that congestion is a problem, “but the current character of that part of Main Street is mixed use. With the amendment of the application to include only the property fronting on Main Street, that is an appropriate use.”
The challenge for the town, he said, “is to limit the use of the property through the special use permit process. But it is appropriate for mixed use.”
