Fee Day on Aug. 30
Rappahannock County Public Schools will hold their annual Fee Day on Thursday, Aug. 30 at both the high school and elementary school. The high school will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a dinner break from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the elementary school will be open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a dinner break also scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. High school principal John Toth noted that no schedule changes will be made on Fee Day. A request for a schedule change, which must be signed by a parent, may be filled out that day, but it will not be considered until after Fee Day. Fire Board meets in Winchester
The Virginia Fire Services Board will hold a regional public meeting'on Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Holiday Inn, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Committee meetings will be held during the day, with the Fire Prevention and Control Committee meeting at 9 a.m., and the Fire/EMS N Training and Education Committee and the Legislative Committee meeting at 1 p.m. The board will hold its regular business meeting on Friday, Aug. 17 at 9 a.m.
