Two other children riding in the car, Ms. Goldston’s two-year-old son Dominique, and Natasha Carroll, 6, were in the rear seat and restrained. They were both treated and released at Fauquier Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Ms. Caldwell said the other three occupants of the car did not appear to have been wearing seat belts.
Ms. Goldston was flown from the scene to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville by the Pegasus medical evacuation helicopter. On Tuesday afternoon, hospital spokeswoman Kathryn Johnson said she is in fair condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Ms. Caldwell said that Trooper Weaver’s investigation is complete and that charges may be filed against Ms. Goldston as early as Thursday.
