WASHINGTON, D.C. — Seventh District Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr. last week called on his colleagues in Congress to stay in session until the Congress’ single most important responsibility is fulfilled.
Calling the budget “the most important job this body has before it,” Rep. Slaughter wrote, “You will never catch Congress working harder or later than when a recess if scheduled, and today is no exception. However, . . .we cannot ignore the fact that our most crucial task remains unfinished.”
