Many of the winners of the prizes awarded on Saturday night were local residents, as well, Mr. Walker said. The 1990 Ford Escort was won by Cecil Williams of Huntly, Jonathan Nicholson of Front Royal w'on the Redskins season tickets, and Donald L. Haynes Jr. of Front Royal won the registered Angus.
Other winners and their prizes were: Frances North of Huntly, quilt; C.E. Giles, Washington, limited edition painting; C.B. Russell, Flint Hill, afghan; Tommy Pangel, Front Royal, living room furniture; Joe Sinnott, Stephens City, chiefs car decanter; Mary Blaisdale, Flint Hill, $100.
“The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company and the members of the Ladies Auxiliary,” Mr. Walker said, “would like to thank the people who live in the Rappahannock County area as well as those from the surrounding communities for their loyal support. To all of those who donated their time, talent and any other contribution, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
“Please make plans to come back to the carnival next year,” he added. It will run from July 31 through Aug. 3.
