Amissville died Aug. 4 in Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. He was a retired railroad engineer. He is survived by his wife, Katie L. Pickel; three daughters, Linda Jenkins of Amissville, Karen Pickel of Opal and Shirley Bush of Herndon; three sons, Walter H. Pickel III of Buckland, Warren Pickel of Warrenton and Thomas Pickel of Herndon.
Mr. Pickel is also survived by his father, Walter H. Pickel Sr., of Middletown, Pa.; four sisters, Edna Windham of Dallas, Texas, Joyce Browning of Landisburg, Pa., Doris Cooper and Dawn Byers, both of Middletown, Pa.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services were held Aug. 7, at Middleburg Memorial Cemetery with, the Rev. Samuel Jones officiating.
