Fire school Sept. 15,16
The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association will sponsor its annual Fire School at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15 and 16. Classes offered will include Hazardous Materials (Level I), Pump Operations, Basic Firefighting Skills, Incident Command and Silo Fires/Farm Equipment Extrication. Dance to benefit WVFD
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance on Saturday, Aug. 18 on Gay Street at the courthouse. At 6 p.m. there will be gospel singing and from 8 p.m. to midnight the New Riders Band will perform. There will also be volleyball and kickball, beer, wine, pizza, hot dogs and more. Cost is $2 per person to benefit WVFD.
Support group plans meeting
A support group for those with environmental illnesses (chemical sensitivity, food and inhalant allergies) will meet Tuesday, Aug. 14 at the home of Clay Fulghum. For more information call 987-3105.
Beahm-Bolen reunion planned
Descendants, friends and relatives are invited to the seventh annual George Washington and Nancy Bolen Beahm family reunion Sunday, Sept. 2, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington.
