Caught in the same economic
crunch that has forced lay-offs and plant shut downs across the country, Aileen, Inc., Rappahannock’s largest single employer, has gone to a four-day week at their Flint Hill facility and will close the doors to their Strasburg plant at the end of August, leaving 190 workers without jobs.
James E. Swindler II, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Swindler of Sperryville, recently completed a U.S. Air Force ROTC field training encampment at McConnell Air Force Base, in Wichita, Kan. The cadet is currently attending the University of Virginia.
