Mike grew up in the county. Mr. Tupper will be teaching special education and business at at the high school and coaching soccer and baseball.
“We wanted to come back home,” she said. “With our daughter 22 months old and another child expected in November, my husband and I'were interested in being closer to our families and closer to our roots. I think it’s important for children to grow up as part of an extended family.”
As to why she chose to go into school administration, Mrs. Tupper said that administrators are “under fire” more. “We deal with more of the problems and fewer of the triumphs than the classroom teacher, but on the positive side as an administrator you can make more of an impact because you are dealing with more children.”
