Two philosophies which she hopes to share with teachers are the “individual worth of children” and the importance of working with parents. “Teachers have to know that every parent cares about his or her child,” she said. “You have to spend time with the parents so the parents and teachers are working together.
“I felt really successful during my nine years in the classroom,” Mrs. Tupper added. “If I can pass along some of what I learned, we can have a positive impact on children.”
