Butler enlists

in Air Force

Jason Butler, son of Lillian D. Reeve and Douglas M. Butler of Sperryville recently enlisted into the Air Force’s delayed enlistment program, according to Staff Sgt. Baxley, the local Air Force recruiter.

Mr. Butler is scheduled for enlistment into the regular Air Force. Upon graduation from the Air Force’s six-week basic training course at Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, he will receive technical training in his designated career area.

He will earn credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and technical training schools.

Back-to-School

crusade

The Sunday School of the Sperryville Assembly of God Church will conduct a Back-to-School crusade Aug. 27-31. Classes for (ages 3-12) will be held 9-10:30 a.m. and classes for ages (13-19) will be held 11 a.m.12:30 p.m.

The crusade will be concluded on Sunday night, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. by the showing of a video tape entitled “From Tragedy to Triumph” by Dave Roever, a Vietnam veteran who suffered severe bums and disfigurement from a hanger grenade, but found Jesus to be the answer to his dilemma.

All children and young people of the community are invited and welcomed to attend this crusade.

Delegate Raymond R. “Andy” Guest Jr. has received a copy of the report “Planning Ahead: A Guide for Virginians with Disabilities” published by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services.

The purpose of this guide is to inform Virginia citizens of the Department’s programs and other services available to them in their local communities. This guide is available for review in Delegate Guest’s legislative office in Front Royal.
