Elaine Allen, assistant director of the garden, was our guide. She introduced us to the extensive plantings, and we were able to touch, smell and taste the foliage and blooms of various herbs.
She also talked with the club concerning research being done on plants once considered as weeds, but which are now being studied for food and grain sources.
