Park cleanup

on Sept. 8

Superintendent J.W. Wade announced that Shenandoah National Park will have a two-day cleanup of roadsides, and other areas within the Park as part of Public Lands Day, Sept. 8.

The Park is seeking participation in this event from all interested persons to assist Park employees in this effort. Individuals or groups who would like to work on this project should contact Park staff at (703) 999-2243, extension 483.

Efforts will be made to identify projects that are near people’s homes. Those interested in participating will be asked to meet at Park entrance stations at Front Royal, Thornton Gap, Swift Run Gap, or
