A hymn sing and surprise pastor appreciation day honoring Rev. Merlin Shorb was held at the Willis Chapel Church on Sunday. Members of the Sperryville and Flint Hill churches were also present for the covered dish dinner and hymn sing with special music. The pastor was presented a plaque from the Willis Chapel choir.
Rev. and Mrs. Shorb’s three children Merlin Jr., Denise and Jennifer, all of Maryland were in attendance.
The Flint Hill Home Extension Club met last Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Janet Eastham. Those present were Mrs. Flo Duvall, Miss Margaret Dodson, Mrs. Linnie Cummings, Mrs. Alice Pullen and Mrs. Elizabeth Hopkins.
Flint Hill will have Circus Day on Thursday, Sept. 20 when the Robert Brother Three Ring Circus will perform for one day only. Watch for more details to follow.
