To the editor:
Almost everyone agrees that the best investment we can make for the future is in our young people who will control that future.
This investment entails not only money but as important it involves time. Time to listen, time to be with the youth, time to set good examples when it be showing pride in your work or showing kindness to people of all ages.
In Rappahannock we have many who are making that investment. Not only parents but other volunteers are spending countless hours with organized youth activities through churches, scouts, schools and 4-H clubs. The recent 4-H farm show provides a prime example of adults from our community working with the youth to instill knowledge values, and a sense of self esteem.
I have two children who have participated in this activity for the past several years. I have always been impressed with the hours the leaders are willing to spend helping the children develop their projects and with the financial support individuals and businesses give this effort.
