Mr. Viverette continues to mislead the public by saying that Mr. Frazier was only four months behind and owed only $840. The official record clearly shows that Mr. Frazier made no payment from Dec. 28, 1989 to May 16, 1990 and the bill was $1,765.
Board President Lindsay Gordon stated that “we have nothing to be ashamed of at R.E.C.”
When does the unethical become illegal? Corruption, coverup and total incompetence all seem appropriate when reading about Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
With the cost of electricity being a major concern to every household, it is time for R.E.C. to put qualified professionals in management and on the board. Let’s abandon the “good ole boy” network and the “buddy” system before our “lights” go totally out.
Dean Irvine should be applauded for bringing these atrocities to the members’ attention. I encourage all R.E.C. members to join the cause and send their signed proxies to Dean Irvine at P.O. Box 1352, Culpeper, Virginia 22701. Together, we can make the needed changes to bring responsible and ethical management to R.E.C.
