When the state rankings for girls single-A high school softball are issued next week, the Rappahannock Lady Panthers, undefeated all year and now assured of a first-round bye in the regionals, those Lady Panthers can expect to be at the top of them.
The team heads into its final regular-season game Thursday against Strasburg after beating Central and Brentsville this week for a 13-0 Bull Run District record.
The team goes into the tworound Bull Run District playoffs at Stanley Baseball Field at 5 p.m. Monday knowing it doesn’t even need to win to get the first-round bye in the regionals.
