To sign up for the CPR class at 7 p.m. May 19 and 21 at the fire hall, call J.B. Carter at 937-4218. There’s a small fee for the book.

Contestants for the fire company’s honorary fire chief queen, princess and little princess should call Sandy at 937-4218.

The carnival is set for June 24-27. The parade will be held on Thursday, June 25 and the crowning will be on Friday, June 26.

You are reminded the Amissville Volunteer Fire Company’s fund drive is in progress. Send your donations to them at P.O. Box 147, Amissville, Va. 22002. Also, purchase tickets from fire company members or contestants for the cash prize/drawings to be held Saturday evening, June 27 at the carnival.

In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services Week, May 10-16, we pay special tribute to our many volunteer rescue personnel.
