won the Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction and the Virginia Library Association’s Jefferson Cup Award, as well as other honors.
With her husband Jack, Mrs. Reeder has written three non-fiction books for adults. These books, which grew out of the couple’s interest in the park, are “Shenandoah Heritage," “Shenandoah Vestiges,” and “Shenandoah Secrets.”
In addition to writing, Mrs. Reeder teaches language arts to primary grade children at an independent school in Washington, D.C. She lives in Glen Echo, Md.
Two other guests appearing with Mrs. Reeder are Beth Sutton, author of “A Pony for Keeps,” and J.R. Rose, syndicated cartoonist, illustrator and creator of “Kids’ Home Newspaper.”
This program “Just for Kids” will start at 7:30 p.m. June 5 at the Rappahannock Library. There is no admission fee and refreshments will be served.
