ing behind her love for animals, art and flowers. After several years in the business field, she left the office in order to spend time with her child, who suffers from cystic fibrosis.
Time at home gave her more time to spend in the gardens she created around her Flint Hill home, a house purchased for the sloping acreage suitable to grow grapevines—a dream she and her husband worked toward for several years.
In the wake of her son’s death, she found putting time in gardening helped occupy her thoughts.
“Now, it’s taking up all my time,” she said with a wave of her hand to indicate the growing business and her numerous large perennial beds that circle the property.
To pay for her horticultural passions, Mrs. Brune said she started to sell flowers.
Her flowers could be seen at local restaurants such as Four and Twenty Blackbirds or The Flint Hill Meeting Place, previously The School House Restaurant.
