Congressman Frank Wolf, R10th, newly re-elected to his seventh term in the House, and newly elected as the representative of many residents of the redrawn l()th , district, made a whistlestop tour of the expansive district last week.
His curavan made stops in Frederick, Warren, Clarke, Rappahannock, Prince William, Fairfax, and Fauquier Counties. The central purpose of the cavalcade was to introduce constituents to his 18-memher staff.
“This is the staff," Wolf told small gatherings at each stop, "and they wanted to know who the people were so when you call on the phone, they’ll have some idea, some way to put the name and the face and the place together.”
Wolf said that his staff is in the process of opening two new offices in the district to better serve the large area that he represents. One will open in Winchester in January, and another will open on the Route 2H corridor near Dulles shortly thereafter.
Judy McCary, Wolfs constituent services director, said that the latter office may prove to bo convenient for Fauquier residents. “We’rtvin hopes that, by being there, we can have meetings where we might have to bring some federal officials and it won’t Ik* too far for them to come, and it won’t be too far for you to come either,” she said.
Donna Crowley will staff the Winchester office, Ms. McCary said.
Wolfs Washington headquarters will also be installing a toll-free line, the congressman said, making it cheaper for constituents to call.
Constituent service is the hallmark of Wolfs tenure in the House, his supporters claim, and was, in large part, responsible for his landslide victory in November.
