The first meeting of the new Parent-Teachers Association of Washington Elementary School was held on Wednesday, December 5, at the school with about 30 in attendance. The following officers were elected: President: The Rev. Dabney J. Carr; VicePresident, Mr. John Warner; Secretary, Mrs. W.F. Moffett Jr.; Treasurer, Mrs. John H. Williams, Jr. The next business under discussion was the raising of money. Yearly dues of 50 cents per person were agreed upon. It was also agreed to serve a lunch at the auction sale at Jessamine Hill Farm, Wednesday and Thursday, December 19 and 20. Parents are asked to donate food and to report through their children what they will contribute.
