five sisters, Frances Williams and Otelia Triplett, both of Culpeper, Mable Thomas of New Brunswick, N.J., Pauline Culbreath and Martha Johnson, both of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Frank Johnson of New Brunswick, N.J. and Eugene Johnson of Culpeper; 25 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a beloved friend, Susie Hunter.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his son, John Johnson Jr. and two granddaughters.
A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 7 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Norman with the Rev. Hugh R. Wilson of Culpeper officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Lynwood Atkins
Lynwood Atkins, 70, of Winchester, died Saturday, Dec. 5 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester by Dr. Donald J. Campbell. Burial was in the Sperryville Cemetery.
Mr. Atkins was born June 17, 1922, in Sperryville, the son of the late Charles and Dassie Frances Woodard Atkins. He Was a driver for the Wilson Trucking Co. and the Clowser Mayflower Movers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
