So, a musical piece has a hack ground in the era and character of the composer and its particular place in his or her career. Those who were able to hear about the pieces from one steeped in the world of music lis toned with somewhat more discern ing ears to Haydn's compositions.
Schroder stressed that quartet playing is especially enjoyable for musicians, and as a consequence, is of particular interest to listeners who become part of what is nearly a game.
While miracles are done with reproducing music for home consumption, the privilege of hearing superb musicians perform unamplified, fresh sound in a hall where the acoustics are friendly is rare indeed.
Trying to describe the music is like trying to describe a taste or a color.
