The latest manpower bulletin
from the Culpeper office of the Virginia Employment Commission has good news on the state of Rappahannock’s economy. After topping 11 percent in September, the county’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.2 percent in October. The latest figure moves Rappahannock from the top of the unemployment ladder in the five-county area to the next-to-the-bottom rung.
Rappahannock County is one of forty-four Virginia school divisions to be awarded federal funds totaling $350,000. Rappahannock’s share - $8,000 - is earmarked for the Gifted and Talented program.
