RAAC

now 10

years old

The Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community (RAAC) celebrated its Tenth Anniversary this past weekend above Peter Kramer’s shop on Gay Street.

It was an appropriate place for the party as the idea that spawned * RAAC was conceived in Mr. Kramer’s living room 10 years ago when he, Frank Reynolds and a few others gathered to talk about movies.

As part of the anniversary party Mr. Reynolds and Charlie Tompkins paid tribute to some of* the people who have been instrumental in RAAC’s success.

Bill Young, who keeps the movie program running, was cited for 10 years of faith and leadership and his wife Mitzie Young for her indispensable

input and assistance.

Diana Bird was honored for "doing all that was asked of her and more,” Mr. Reynolds said. Dot Mank was cited for ”10 million cupcakes made,” Mr. Tompkins said, and her husband Sid was thanked for his patience and good natured assistance.
