Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
A native of Rappahannock County and a retired farmer, Mr. Settle was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Hitt Settle and attended Gourdvine Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Clark Settle; one step-son, George W. Pullen of Amissville; a step-daughter, Christine Gail Compton of Front Royal and five stepgrandchildren.
A graveside service was held Thursday, Dec. 3 at Forest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Fletcher officiating.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Weakley, Roy Weakley, Raymond Hitt, Robert Seymour, Robert Weaver and Walter Pickel.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Forest Grove Baptist Church.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
