Wolf didn't limit his brief remarks to strictly local issues. He said that the 103rd Congress would undoubtedly turn to economic conditions when it first convenes in January.
“But President Bush says that we are coming out of the recession,” Wolf said, “and the economic growth is 3.9 percent this last quarter, the biggest growth in the Bush administration. President-elect Clinton is going to have to be careful that he doesn’t overheat this economy whereby ... inflation comes raging back,” he said.
Wolf also indicated his support for the President’s decision to send troops to Somalia under the U. N.sanctioned “Operation Restore Hope.”
“There is no law and order there, there is no order. It is absolute chaos,” he said. The congressman said that he believes that the troops can restore order, clean up the situation, and be back home by the inauguration.
