The Rappahannock County Water &. Sewer Authority and the Rappahannock County School Board are accepting applications from qualified persons for the position of Sewage Treatment Plant Operator. This is a permanent, full-time position that includes benefits. The Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Sperryville Sewage Treatment facility, located in Sperryville, Rappahannock County, Virginia, as well as for the operation of the Sewage Treatment Facilities at the Rappahannock County Elementary &. High Schools. The Operator shall be responsible for operating the facilities (to include all daily monitoring and sampling) in full compliance with permits issued by the Virginia State Water Control Board (VPDES Permit No. VA0062880 & others). Further, the Operator shall be responsible for promptly apprising the Authority and the School Board of system needs, problems, and actual or potential deficiencies in equipment or operations. The Sperryville system consists of a fifty-five thousand gallon-per-day (55,000 gpd) Treatment Facility located on Authority-owned property in the village of Sperryville. Approximately one-hundred sixty septic tanks are connected to this facility by piping which carries all graywater effluent to the Treatment Facility. The wastes collected in the system's septic tanks are periodically pumped and hauled by the operator for treatment at the Facility.
