“We had mostly senior citizens with age-related disabilities," said forester Sharon Mohney, “but some of the people are confined to wheelchairs and rarely have an opportunity to hunt in a natural forested environment."

The Dry River Ranger District in Bridgewater issued 12 permits for two areas, one near Bergton, Va., and one near Brandywine, W.Va. Each road is about three miles long.
"Everybody we talked to said they saw deer, but we do not know if they harvested any," said District Ranger Bud Risner.
