From a column in The Denver Post: “Of course us manly men of the pontificating tribe would trash a mere househusband. . Here “us manly men” functions as the subject of "would trash." The construction requires a nominative prpnoun, “Of eourse we manly men...”
Several readers have expressed doubt about the use of "may" and “might.” There’s not much difference - only the same difference one finds in “night and day,” or “right and left," or “up and down." The auxiliary verbs carry wholly different meanings.
