A new signature policy is now in effect at the ASCS office. A husband and wife may sign documents on behalf of each other for ASCS and CCC programs in which either has an interest.
"A power of attorney no longer has to be on file for husband and wife. To deny a spouse this signature authority, a written notification ddhying the spouse authority to sign mtlst be on file in the county office.
Producers who purchase new tracts of land are now required to provide the ASCS office with proof of ownership. A copy of the deed and plot will be appropriate documentation.
The 1993 Acreage Reduction Program signup is now underway. The deadline to sign an application to participate in this set aside program is April 30, 1993.
