House which served as a Federal hosptial. A Confederate field hospital will also be set up in the yard on the Hillsman House. General Lee’s camp will be set up adjacent to the Hillsman House.
“Appomattox: Collapse of the Confederate Dream,” a video filmed at the 125th reenactment of the Sailor’s Creek battle and the surrender at Appomattox, will be shown in the basement of the Hillsman House.
Also on Saturday Federal and Confederate soldiers will take part in a tactical engagement from 10 to 11 a.m.
On Sunday General Lee will ride across the battlefield at 1:45 p.m. on his way to the village of Rice. The battle reenactment begins at 2 p.m. and should last about two hours. The weekend’s activites will conclude at 4 p.m. with the playing of “Taps” at the monument which honors Confederate and Federal soldiers who died at Sailor’s Creek.
Parking for Saturday’s events will be at the Hillsman House.
