I can tell you that the closing of this installation would be disastrous to the financial and social welfare of our county. I have a sign in my office that states, the first story is usually wrong, and in your case it appears to be true.

To the Editor:
I recently heard about the dismissal of Connie Huff-Harris. As a citizen of Rappahannock County, I was dismayed at the loss of such a loyal and professional public servant.
As a 22-year veteran in the law enforcement and fire and rescue field, I understand the vital importance of a well-trained and knowledgeable dispatcher. Connie has been certified as a dispatcher and a, jailer by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The combination of her specialized training, nine years of experience, and life-long residency in Rappahannock County made her an invaluable asset to its citizens.
It is my understanding that Connie was given no explanation for the termination of her employment. It would have been only common courtesy for Sheriff Woodward to have given her a reason for her dismissal. Could it be that the Sherriff had no legitimate reason for his actions against her?
I personally want to thank Connie for her service to the citizens of Rappahannock County for the past nine years. We will surely miss her.
