Through the magic of the Virginia Department of Education and Virginia Satellite Educational Network (VSEN), many Virginia students are achieving this astouding feat. Students are remaining in their schools and saving taxpayers thousands of dollars; while at the same time, the students are actively engaged in exploring the world.
In most school systems, field trips are the first item cut from the shrinking, educational budget. However, VSEN and Fairfax County Public Schools have enlisted the aid of modem technology to bring the experience of travel into Virginia’s classrooms.
The Electronic Field Trips provide live, televised visits to locations of historical, scientific, and cultural importance. These televised field trips are broadcast live to Virginia schools.
