Storyhour to continue
Storyhour is continuing on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. So far there have been programs on sea animals, winter, creepy critters and spooky stories. The programs will continue every Tuesday through April 6. All library programs are free and open to the public.
Sock hop
The RCES PTO will sponsor a sock hop from 7 to 9 p.m. on March 26 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. The door prize will be a TV and there will be refreshments, dancing and fun. Admission is $1. All parents and children are invited.
Support group to meet
The Blue Ridge Head Injury Support Group meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 27th from 2-4 p.m. in the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church on Gay and Middle Streets in Washington. For directions, information or transportation, please Pat Salmon 6753137 after 6:30 p.m.
Buffet breakfast
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all-youcan-eat breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10. The breakfast will consist of eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, hash browns, fried apples, pancakes, homemade biscuits, french toast, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice. The cost will be $3 for children and $5 for adults.
Easter egg hunt
The Easter bunny will be in attendance at Washington Volunteer Fire Department at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10 for a free children’s Easter egg hunt. The age groups will be under four years, four to eight years and nine to 12 years. There will be prizes, food and fun, so bring your camera.
NSDAR members to meet
The postponed March 14 tea of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 28 at the Culpeper United Methodist Church. Honored guests will be the recipents of the DAR Good Citizens Awards and the American History Essay Awards and their families.
Miss Rappahannock pageant
The annual Miss Rappahannock beauty pageant sponsored by Sperryville Rescue Squad will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 24 at Rappahannock High School. Rehearsal will be held ait the school at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22.
The contest will include girls ages 2-19 and boys from 2-6 years old. There will also be a mother-daughter contest. For more information call Ann Markham at 987-3122 or Gail Deal at 987-8182.
