After Mr. Gilbert left the supervisors looked at preliminary plans for the new landfill cell. Mr. McCarthy said it will be six to eight weeks before the final plans were ready to submit to the state. The supervisors urged him to write to the engineering company saying they wanted the plans submitted as soon as possible.
The new cell will cover about 4.2 acres, between 20 and 25 percent more area than the first tw-o cells combined.
The supervisors also approved issuing $1.5 million in bonds to pay for the elementary school expansion and signed the deed to purchase land for the expansion from Roy Leake.
The payback on the bonds will be over 20 years. Mr. McCarthy said the rate should be 6 percent or slightly lower. The payment for next year should be nearly $201,000. The final payment in 2013 would be $10,300. ‘
