I am disappointed to learn that my opponent, Jerry Wood, has chosen not to accept the Rappahannock Farmers Association’s invitation to a candidates’ forum in Rappahannock County. For my part, I was pleased to agree upon learning of their interest. As voters will recall, as early as May, I too invited my opponent to debate in Rappahannock Countyone in each precinct. He also rejected that proposal.
I do note that my opponent nevertheless will be attending a fundraiser in the county on Oct. 9. It is noteworthy that funds, rather than views of constituents are being sought.
I am a vistor to Rappahannock County virtually daily, knocking on doors, learning your thoughts, and enjoying your hospitality. I will continue to do so through election day and, with your support, during my term in the House of Delegates.
