young Lions going till the job was done? It was SN-year-old Raymond Johnson, one of the three remaining Charter Members of the club, still cutting more apples than most of the rookies. Then Friday morning Raymond left with the cooking and canning crew at 4 a.m. to drive to the cannery near Harrisburg, where the apple butter is cooked and canned (actually jarred) and labeled.
It's generally known that the official motto of the Lions Club International is “We Serve." Your local Lions take that commitment seriously. We believe that helping the community and our neighbors when they need a helping hand is one of the main reasons that Lionism has grown in 76 years to become the largest service club organization in the world with over 1,400,(MX) members in 174 countries.
The Rappahannock Lions Club is not as large as many of the city clubs but it has continued to grow and currently numbers more than 40.
