Paper and Clay at Middle Street The public is invited to the opening of “Gleanings From Rappahannock,” works of handmade paper by Nina Moore and clay by Jeanne Drevas at Middle Street Gallery in Washington. Drevas will show work in low-salt fired porcelain, a technique she developed during her three-year stay in Switzerland. Moore will feature new work from her experimentation with handmade paper. Moore and Drevas are sisters. The show runs through Oct. 24. Gallery hours are Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fox Hunting At The Library Fox Hunting with the Rappahannock Hunt will be the Friday at the Library topic at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8. This program, presented by Huntsman Oliver G. Brown is designed to inform one about the history, tradition, customs, of the horses, hounds, participants, and the fox. A colorful sport, often misunderstood, fox hunting is surrounded by specific rules and regulations which have inspired its members and enriched the lives of its observers.
Craft Fair and Barbecue The Jeffersonton Community Center will hold its annual Craft Fair and Ruritan Barbecue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. Committee To Meet The Mental Retardation Committee Meeting of the Rappahan, nock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold a meeting at 12 noon on Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the Lord Culpeper Building. Walk-in Clinics The Rappahannock County Health Department is expanding it’s walk-in clinics for the following services: Routine Childhood Immunizations, HIV anitbody testing and Blood Pressure screening which are offered free of charge. The following times are available in October, 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7; 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13; 8:30-11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 and 9-11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 25.
