I was chatting with Randall Updike the other day - Randall is one of our local sheep producers - and he was telling me about the barbecue that the Rappahannock Farmers Association is having this Saturday evening, Oct. 9 during the Crossroads Weekend. The Famers Association will be selling lamburgers just like the ones that the 4-H Livestock Club sells at their barbecue booth on July 4th.

Fewer Calories

Lamb is leaner than ever. With less fat, it contains fewer calories. A three-ounce serving of cooked lean lamb <the serving size often recommended by nutritionists) provides, on average, only 175 calories, or 6 percent of the average daily caloric intake of a 25-to 50-year-old male (2900 calories/day).
