Lion Phil Smith has organized our first annual Grand Raffle Draw Down party from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. (i to be held at the Lakeside Swim Club just outside of Culpeper on C.S. 522. The Grand Prize is $5,000 in cash with (i other prizes of $100, 4 at $50, and 5 at $25. The ticket price of $100 includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner for two, dancing to a live band and a free open bar all evening.
What do we do with the money we raise from apple butter, the auction, the July 4th "Lion Club Cafe" and special events like the Grand Raffle? One-hundred percent is returned directly to benefit the many community service projects that the Lions support. All club and Lions organizational expenses, our regular dinner meeting, travel expenses for club representatives and general administrative costs are paid for by our of members’ quarterly dues or other personal contributions by the Lions themselves.
