The cross country team split a home meet last Wednesday, barely beating Brentsville while losing to Central, and then came in 12th in a 17-team invitational meet at Woodberry Forest Saturday.
Most of the team members ran personal best times Wednesday, cutting one minute or more from their previous records. The score was 26 for Central, 54 for Rappahannock and 57 for Brentsville.
Jason Waters ran second, Mike Grimsley ran fifth, Mark Jenkins ran 10th, Mike Wolfe ran 18th and Nathan Flinchum ran 19th. Among the girls Holley Gangel ran first and Camilla Josephson ran ninth.
