By FRANCES BISHOPP , Rappahannock News Staff Writer r WOODBRIDGE — The Walt ^ Disney Co.’s Disney’s America scored its first major victory on Tuesday when the Prince William Board <?f Supervisors voted 7-1 for a revision of a fee schedule which will allow the company to pay only $219,040 in zoning fees, a $401,960 reduction from the original bill. - Tempers flared as the hearing progressed, and one Haymarket resident ran from the chamber screaming that he was moving back to Fairfax if the Disney project is built.
The dissenting vote was cast by Supervisor Bobby McManus who represents the Gainesville district, the site of the proposed park.
Ms. McManus said she wouldn’t support the proposal because the county needed the money. “This amount of money could save the agencies we are cutting back on,” she said. “How can we be faithful to the taxpayers and turn this amount of money down. I cannot support this.”
The revision is in response to Disney’s Nov. 23 request for a reconsideration of the $621,000 zoning costs for its proposed 3,000-acre theme park in Haymarket.
