A highlight of the evening was the award presented to Msyor Claude I. Guinn, Ret., by the SAR,the Virginia Society Medal for distinguished service and exceptional patriotic service. This was the first time that the chapter had awarded this medal to an SAR member.
Following this presentation, Mrs. Eastham introduced guests and thanked the hostesses and committee, Mrs. George W. Bryson, Mrs. Zilla Gutowski and Mrs. Dale J. Metzinger.
