The seven crafters and artists showing their work in the Middle st. Gallery’s August "Wood Show ‘95” command attention and admiration. The very different approach each exhibitor takes results in individually interesting pieces.
1 was first taken with the abstract design of John Robson’s "A Day at the Beach,” a carving of Kentucky coffee-wood, emphasizing the natural patterns in the wood. The light color of the wood lightens the object which, although substantial, is so artfully carved it has both rhythm and perfect proportions.
