The four page application delves deeply into an applicant’s past, asking questions regarding criminal and mental health background, among other subjects. Many things can disqualify an applicant from obtaining a permit. For instance, someone who has been convicted of driving while intoxicated or public drunkenness within the last three years would not be allowed a permit. Also, anyone with a felony charge pending or convicted of stalking would be denied the permit.
