I said, “Sir, I understand that your children are disappointed they can’t go fishing, but we have had a major flood, with loss of property, homes, peoples’ lives, and major roads. All the rocks and mud that you see out here came from the mountain above us, so I doubt that they are open up there!” He left mumbling about how it was very inconsiderate of us to let this happen right before the 4th of July and ruin their trip!
There were many other incidents to make me feel this way about city people, such as VDOT having to post no trespassing signs on bridges and roads so that they could work on them, due to all the sightseeing people! Such as state troopers having to set up road blocks on our roads to keep city people out so we could try to get help in to begin working on the roads and properties!
