Once in the bam, Ms. Poore has plenty to keep her busy until the sun goes down. Summer and winter schedules are different, but in the summer she begins the day by bringing in all the horses and ponies who have spent the night out in the pasture, feeding them, filling their water, and taking care of any infirm horses.
One of the horses had an infection that had abscessed and it has to be soaked twice a day. “They eat breakfast and then take naps,” said Ms. Poore.
