It is hard to believe, in this age of enlightenment concerning matters environmental, that any proposal involving further pollution of our nation’s rivers would have the slightest chance of official approval.
The Rappahannock River system is said to be the least polluted, least "developed,” most pristine on the east coast — and possibly in all the nation. Numerous well-respected organizations: the Nature Conservancy, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Trout Unlimited, the Piedmont Environmental Council, to name a few, have made every effort to educate the public in matters concerning the salvation of what remains of our natural heritage.
